Vietnam, c. 1920, An important wooden screen, finely carved with a landscape scene depicting two figures: one prostrating before the ancestral altar, the other bearing offerings amidst lush vegetation, including flamboyant trees, bamboo stalks with birds flying overhead, and a sun in the shape of a taiji symbol. The base is shaped like two facing dragons. Floral compositions and calligraphic inscriptions reading ‘Wealth, happiness and longevity’ complete the ornamentation around the edges. Minor losses.
