FIRST EDITION. The second, expanded edition, produced by the author’s descendants, dates from 1909. One of the very first books printed by Adolphe Véronèse, private secretary to General Serviez and later to General de Castellane, who purchased Daumon’s printing works in 1803. Before the flora proper, there is an ‘elementary course in botany’ which takes up half of Volume 1, and at the end of the same volume a ‘Memoir read to the Council of Agriculture’ concerning the development of Pont-Long (Labarère 160).
