Jean-Louis PAGUENAUD (1876–1952) Battleship and its escort, c. 1926–1930 Oil on panel, signed lower right. 100 x 151 cm A duplicate of a certificate issued by Mr Vincent Pécaud, dated 14 November 2024, will be provided to the purchaser. From 1924 onwards, Jean-Louis Paguenaud became friends with Vice-Admiral Charles Dumesnil (1868–1946) and sailed aboard the battleship Le Provence. His paintings were exhibited in Paris in 1929 as part of a major retrospective organised under the patronage of Vice-Admiral Dumesnil.
