Beautiful dagger presented to Carmine de Martino.
Mounted in silvered metal lace decorated with foliate scrolls and embellished with 18K gold baguettes and motifs of florets and friezes of foliage, embellished with small emeralds, rubies and sapphires. Pommel adorned with faceted cut amber and four masks.
Silver-plated cross-bow with two eagle-head quillons.
Blade with median edge, flared at the point, engraved at the heel with bouquets and "CdM".

Carmine de MARTINO (1898-1963)
Italian politician and businessman.
He founded and managed the Société industrielle et agricole du sud de l'Italie (SAIM). At the end of the 1950s, he became Under-Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He was also president of the US Salernitana football club.
