Description
Jacques GOOSSENS-BARA Metal and marble coffee table, 43.5 x 50 x 50 cm. Note: Jacques Goossens Bara (Brussels, 1 May 1928) is a Belgian functionalist architect who specialised in urban regeneration in the 1970s. A student at the Brussels Academy (graduated in 1952), he worked with his tutor Henry Lacoste on the construction of the model of Rome in the Parc du Cinquantenaire museum (1949). His first building was awarded the Ven Architecture Prize in 1955. At Expo ’58, he designed the International Red Cross Pavilion and the Transport Pavilion (in collaboration with Robert Courtois, Henri Montois and others), which won the Reynolds Memorial Prize from the American Institute of Architects.
