Later half-vellum binding with corners, spine with 4 raised bands, red title label.
Handwritten bookplate on the title page and endpaper, stamp on the title page and final leaf, and a corrected bookplate reading ‘Ulysse David’ over an earlier bookplate reading ‘Bastien’ (?), a surgeon in Voiron.
First edition of the first Latin translation of Hippocrates’ works, by Marco Fabio Calvo, a friend of Raphael for whom he notably translated Vitruvius’ *De Architectura* into Italian.
