¤ BAOULÉ, IVORY COAST
Wooden mouse oracle with a beautiful brown patina and wear from ritual use. It consists of a two-tiered container, some of the openings of which are closed by tin plates. A handsome carving of a man, carved from solid wood, serves as a grip and also represents the diviner who will interpret the words sent by the Ancestors after the mice have worked. The container is closed at the top with a moulded neck. The body is decorated with various motifs right down to the base.
