SENOUFO, IVORY COAST
Rare large Buruba transverse trumpet (mother trumpet) in wood with a beautiful dark patina. A ring of four openwork relief motifs adorns the top of the bell. The mouthpiece is prolonged by an elegant figure whose forms are reminiscent of the curves and undulations of the bronze figures of the Koulango, neighbours of the Sénoufo in the north-east of Côte d'Ivoire.
