Congo - 66 cm / 77 cm Provenance ; Belgian Colonial Estate A prestigious knife characteristic of the Konda-Ekonda populations, with a long straight blade ending in a curved point. The edges are decorated with a series of symmetrical barbs that enhance its spectacular appearance while underlining its ceremonial status. In addition to its function as a weapon, this type of knife was a marker of prestige and power, worn during ceremonies, gatherings or as a badge of rank. This is an impressive Yakoma ceremonial knife with a broad, arched blade, the curve of which is reminiscent of certain prestigious swords from the northern Congolese basin.
