Description
After Raoul DUFY
La Fée électricité, complete suite of 10 plates, 1953, lithographs by Ch. Sorlier, approx. 100 x 60 cm, fine proofs mounted on plywood, the colours faded, edition of 350.
The immense fresco that served as a model for these prints was commissioned for the 1937 Universal Exhibition in Paris, for the entrance to the Pavillon de la Lumière et de l'Électricité, built by Robert Mallet-Stevens on the Champ-de-Mars. It was donated to the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and installed in 1964. Assembled, the ten prints in this series recreate the panoramic view of the fresco.
