VIETNAM, early 20th century An elegant silver incense burner, resting on three curved legs decorated with chimera heads; the circular body features repoussé and chiselled decoration of flowering peony branches, flanked by two geometric handles, the lid partially openwork with a bamboo design, the handle shaped like a Fo dog holding a brocade ball between its paws, resting on a matching circular base decorated with medallion characters. Foreign hallmark Height: 22 cm Diameter: 17 cm Weight: 567.60 g (One handle detached) Provenance: According to family tradition, presented by the King of Cambodia to the father of the current owner, then a director at Peugeot.
