18th CENTURY
Large gilded repoussé copper-alloy stupa modelled on the Swayambunath stupa, Kathmandu. The base decorated with lotus petals resting on a mandala motif. The body is made up of several interlocking elements, the upper part engraved with the eyes of the Buddha looking at the four orients. The top is crowned with a rock crystal ball. Newar work.
