Three pairs of Chinese famille verte porcelain ‘pomegranates’ cups and saucers. They are delicately enamelled with three ripe pomegranates on a leafy, flowering branch. The pomegranate symbolises fertility and numerous offspring; in imperial courts and noble households, it conveyed wishes for a blessed and prosperous life. Kangxi period, 18th century. Cup: D: 7 cm, H: 3.8 cm. Saucer: D: 12 cm. In perfect condition. (UV-checked).
