A set of embroidered rectangular panels of Chinese red-ground silk. Each panel features a finely embroidered nine-character design, all set within a border of bats and a floral meander pattern. Both are worked in satin stitch and Peking knot in shades of gold, green, ochre, cream, pink and red. 19th century. L: 180 x 29 cm. Good condition.
