CHINA, Han Dynasty
A pair of lidded tripod vases of the so-called ‘ding’ type, made of terracotta and bearing traces of former polychromy, with a globular body resting on three moulded legs and featuring two vertical handles set opposite each other. Each vase is topped with a fitted domed lid. The feet are decorated with stylised masks in relief.
