Description
A circular silver dish with a scalloped rim, the rim moulded with fillets. It is engraved with the coat of arms of the des Fosses family, Marquises of Coyolles (?), featuring two silver lions standing back-to-back and crossed in saltire, their tails crossed in double saltire, and the motto ‘Concordia Victrix’ beneath a marquis’s crown. Paris, 1784. Marked ‘MO’ Jean-Charles Roquillet-Desnoyers, admitted as a master silversmith in Paris on 4 April 1772. Weight: 793 g.
