Paris 1798–1809 Silversmith: Louis Claude ROUSSEAU, hallmarked in 1803 Weight: 92 g Length: 19.5 cm Note: Sugar spoon made by taking a plain spoon with its hallmarks and ‘embellished’ by a craftsman with chiselled ornamentation (mass-produced around 1880) An almost identical specimen is held at the Louvre Museum, dated as ‘genuine’ (1769–1770).
