A 2nd-grade gilded silver sugar spoon, shell-shaped, engraved with a combined coat of arms surmounted by a count’s crown.
Turin, Italy, second half of the 18th century
This is probably the work of the assayer Giacomo-Francesco GATTINARA of Turin, who served as an assayer between 1735 and 1767.
This is the 2nd-title silver hallmark of the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia, bearing the Turin Assay Office mark (bull’s head) for the period 1824–1860.
