in silver, baluster-shaped on a pedestal, decorated with friezes of lambrequins against a guilloché background. The body is engraved with the coat of arms of the Méry de Montigny family beneath a marquis’s crown; it is fitted with handles adorned with clasps. The lid is topped with a pine cone surrounded by foliage.
