Description
JUG WITH COAT OF ARMS
In silver, of truncated conical shape. The body, resting on a pedestal, is decorated with fluting and topped by a frieze of interlacing patterns and shells. The body is engraved with the combined coat of arms of Amaury, Marquis de La Moussaye, and his wife, née Diane de Monteynard (who married in 1906). The lid is surmounted by a handle in the shape of a leafy pomegranate.
Minerve hallmark, 1st standard. No silversmith’s hallmark.
The reverse is marked ‘Geo Auger / Paris / Place des Victoires’.
