CHRISTOFLE
A substantial silver-plated bronze table centrepiece. Comprises:
- an oval-shaped table centrepiece. The frame is decorated with fruit tree branches; at each end sits a putto playing with a bird.
Height: 23 cm – Width: 51 cm – Depth: 23 cm.
- two fruit bowls with circular bases, decorated with budding branches, with clasp-shaped feet. The uprights feature depictions of kneeling putti, each holding a cornucopia.
Height: 29 cm
Marked on the reverse of each piece. The fruit bowls each bear a workshop mark consisting of a letter: “873626” and “C”, and “923376” and “B”
Late Second Empire, circa 1870.
The frames are made of translucent glass.
