A large porcelain vase, with a polychrome decoration featuring a Moorish portrait signed ‘G Amaury’ and a Middle Eastern landscape in medallions outlined with water leaves against a vermiculated gold background; the neck is adorned with an Oriental-inspired frieze of palm leaves, the bronze mount is chiselled and openwork with panels of foliage scrolls; the plinth is fitted with an onyx plaque; the handles are adorned with a coiled dragon. Attributed to Paul Louchet (1854–1936), an ancestor of our consignor. Late 19th century. Height: 81 cm (Damage to one corner of the onyx plaque)
