Description
SAINTE-RADEGONDE, Tours – A faience vase glazed in ‘bleu de four’, also known as ‘bleu de Tours’, with a gold-accented decoration. The deep blue background, characteristic of pottery from Tours produced in the tradition developed by Gustave Asch in the late 19th century, sets off a gilded design featuring ermine and a salamander surmounted by a royal crown, the symbol of François I. Marked on the reverse with a tower-shaped mark. H: 36.5 cm.
