Jean Royère" metal nameplate on one armchair Created in 1951 Armchairs, H: 73.5 cm / W: 56 cm / D: 65 cm Stool, H: 53 cm / Diam: 47 cm (Wear, small tears and stains) Provenance: Private collection Paris and by descent History: Produced from 1951 onwards, this low model was first presented in the "Foyer d'aujourd'hui" section of the Salon des arts ménagers, then at the Salon des artistes décorateurs in 1954. Note: Paule Marrot is a French artist and textile designer known for her colourful motifs inspired by nature, combining flowers, foliage and birds in a style that is both modern and poetic. Her decorative universe brings freshness and lightness to post-war interiors. She worked in particular with Jean Royère, who used her floral fabrics to cover some of his furniture. Paule Marrot's prints complement the soft, organic shapes of Royère's furniture, creating warm, elegant ensembles that are emblematic of French design in the 1950s.
