Jules VIEILLARD (1813–1868) Large polychrome enamelled earthenware dish with a radiant decoration of floral and geometric motifs. Signed with an intaglio stamp on the underside and bearing the original ‘ED.Calmels’ label. D: 54.5 cm (slight chips and a restoration on the back) A wide polychromatic enamelled earthenware plate designed by Jules Vieillard (Bordeaux), with a radiant decor of flowers and geometrical patterns. Stamped under the base and original "ED.Calmels" tag. D: 21.46 inches (slight chips and a restoration on the back) Museography: An identical piece is held at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Bordeaux under inventory number 75.3.8.
