Gustav Adolphe HIERHOLTZ (1877–1948) "Elephant Uprooting a Stump" Bronze sculpture with a brown patina. Early edition cast using the lost-wax technique by the Susse foundry in Paris. Circular plinth. Signed "G.Hierholtz", foundry mark "Susse Frs Edt Paris bronze" and "lost wax". 36 x 40.5 x 18 cm A "Elephant uprooting a stump" brown patinated bronze sculpture from a lost-wax edition cast by Susse, based on a design by Gustav Adolphe Hierholtz. Signed "G.Hierholtz", with the caster’s mark "Susse Frs Edt Paris bronze" and marked "cire perdue". 14.17 x 15.95 x 7.09 inches
