BLAIN Françoise (born 1955) – A stoneware vase with an irregular spherical shape, characterised by a glaze featuring broad black drips on a brown background. H. 19 cm. W. 24 cm. Note: Françoise Blain began her career as a ceramicist in the Nantes region, where she set up her first studio following a background in science. There, she worked with stoneware for several years, developing a body of work influenced by Japanese art, particularly ikebana. In 2002, she moved to the Sancerre area in the Cher department. Since 2016, she has been a member of the ceramics community at La Borne (in the commune of Henrichemont), a leading centre for contemporary ceramics, where she still lives and works.
