Description
BLIN Jacques (1920–1995) (Attributed to) – Earthenware jug with black glaze. Unsigned. This piece can be seen in a photograph of a ceramics stand featuring works by several ceramicists, including Jacques Blin, at the Salon des Ateliers d’Art in Paris in September 1952; a reproduction of this photograph appears in the book *Histoire de l’atelier Jacques Blin* by Vianney Fray, p. 26. Height: 22 cm. Note: Jacques Blin was a leading post-war French ceramicist, renowned for his organic forms and engraved decorations, inspired by cave art and the animal kingdom. A former aeronautical engineer, he turned to ceramics in the 1950s and went on to create earthenware pieces. As president of the Salon des Ateliers d’Art de France, he succeeded Marcel Guillot.
