Description
CAPRON Roger (1922–2006) – A vase known as the ‘Cornet’, made of black glazed earthenware with a geometric design created using paraffin wax. Unsigned. Early work, circa 1953–1955. Height: 25.5 cm. The ‘Cornet’ model comes in four sizes; this one is the second largest. (Chips to the base and stains). Note: After studying at the École des Arts décoratifs in Paris, Roger Capron moved to Vallauris in the immediate post-war period. There, he founded the Callis studio with Robert Picault and Jean Derval, before opening his own studio in 1948.
