Description
CERENNE (workshop) – Fish serving set comprising a large dish and six ceramic plates decorated with polychrome fish motifs. The dish is signed with a stamp on the underside; the plates are marked ‘C3’ and ‘Vallauris’. Length of the platter: 62 cm, diameter of the plates: 23 cm.
Note: The Cerenne workshop, founded in 1943 in Vallauris by Charles-René Neveux and his wife Suzanne, established itself as one of the jewels of post-war ceramics. It combined tradition and innovation, allowing great artistic freedom to designers such as Honoré Camos, François de Chabaneix and Raymonde Leduc. The workshop continued its activities throughout the second half of the 20th century.
