GIUGE Marius (1909–1980) – Coffee service in glazed earthenware, brown speckled with white and accented with gold, comprising a coffee pot, a sugar bowl, a milk jug, eleven cups and thirteen saucers. Signed on the base with the stamp of the factory in Vallauris. Note: The manufacturer’s stamp ‘Marius Giuge, artisan-potier, Vallauris’ is documented on pieces held in the collections of the Musée des Arts décoratifs, notably a bouillabaisse set dated around 1950–1955. Marius Giuge’s workshop, based in Vallauris, produced tableware in terracotta or glazed earthenware, often marked on the base.
