Description
JAKOBSSON Hans-Agne (1919–2009) – Set of three candle holders in brass and blown glass in blue, yellow and pink. Label: ‘Hans-Agne Jakobsson, Markaryd, Made in Sweden’. Circa 1960. Height: 16 cm. Wear to the brass. Note: Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish designer who trained as a joiner and then as an architect, and who founded his own design studio in Markaryd in 1951. His work is part of the post-war Scandinavian design movement and is characterised by his exploration of light diffusion, the combination of brass, wood and coloured glass, and his use of understated, organic forms. His light fittings and decorative objects were mainly produced between the 1950s and 1970s and were widely distributed internationally.
