Description
SAVOIE (attributed to) – A zoomorphic polychrome glazed earthenware jug in the shape of a stylised bird. The body, which serves as a reservoir, has a small filling hole at the top and a spout integrated into the head. The all-over decoration, executed in polychrome engobes applied beneath the glaze, features a rich array of feathers, foliage and flowers in shades of green, yellow, blue and cream against a reddish-brown background. A folk art piece from the mid-20th century. H. 21 cm.
