URFER Paul (1916–2000) – Set of four ‘Cross of the Holy Spirit’ pectoral pendants, comprising an Occitan cross surmounted by a dove in unglazed terracotta. Marked on the reverse with the stamp ‘Paul Urfer, ceramic artist, Pornic’. H. 9.2 cm. Note: Paul Urfer, a French ceramicist, was awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1972. In 1948, he joined the MBFA pottery in Pornic, with which he maintained a long-standing collaboration, notably developing a range of decorative ceramics.
