BAUDOUIN Jean-Paul (born 1946) – Ovoid glazed ceramic vase, with a flared neck and three handles, decorated with three faces incised with a stylus between the handles and glazed floral motifs. Signed ‘Baudouin’ on the base. Height: 20 cm. Condition: not stated. Note: Jean Paul Baudouin is an artist based in Trentemoult, near Nantes. His work spans ceramics, painting, wood carving and welded metal. Close in spirit to Art Brut, though not institutionally affiliated with the movement, he has developed a personal universe populated by totemic figures, characters and free-form shapes, where references to folk art and the primitive imagination intersect.
