Description
DAVID LANGE (manufacturer) (attributed to) – Plexiglas table lamp, with a four-column shaft resting on a square-section base. Height at the lampholder: approximately 37 cm. Chips on the base; electrical wiring needs attention. Note: Founded in the late 1960s by Anne-Marie David and Paul Lange, the David Lange workshop was part of the research being carried out into transparent materials, notably PMMA, marketed under the names Plexiglas® or Altuglas®. Showcased at the Salon des Ateliers d’arts de France in 1972, its range of transparent furniture quickly met with considerable success. Taken over that same year by Jacques Devaux, the company was reorganised and became one of France’s leading manufacturers of Plexiglas® furniture.
