HISTORICAL :
The 100 Sedie in una Notte ("100 chairs in one night") series is one of the most emblematic projects of radical Italian design at the end of the 20th century. In 1990, Paolo Pallucco created a series of 100 different chairs, conceived as objects on the borderline between design, sculpture, poetry and performance art. The project was born of an almost mythical idea: Pallucco imagined spending a "last night" designing chairs, inspired by a poetic atmosphere linked to Rainer Maria Rilke.
The Emilio Mazzoli gallery then became the official publisher of the series: each chair was produced in a limited edition of four, signed and numbered, with the gallery's stamp affixed to the pieces.
