La Danse; three nudes (two women and a man) against a background of stylised vegetation, unique piece, circa 1920
Large obovoid vase, the neck choked then with a flat lip.
A glazed ceramic proof with polychrome decoration on an ivory background with a fine network of craquelures.
Restoration to the neck.
Signed R. BUTHAUD and with an old (exhibition?) label on the base.
Height : 39 cm
Provenance :
France Cruège de Forceville; close to the artist who was his best man at his wedding; daughter of Pierre Cruège, designer, close friend and biographer of René Buthaud.
France Cruège de Forceville is the author of numerous publications and curator of exhibitions on the Bordeaux ceramist, a recognised specialist, CNE expert and collector of his work.
