Shamshir (sword) and its scabbard, probably Indo-Persian or Ottoman, 19th–20th centuries, scabbard and hilt decorated with red enamel, engraved with inscriptions, silver geometric and floral motifs, and geometric mother-of-pearl motifs; the inscription ‘Allahu akbar’ on one side of the blade, ‘al-jihadu fi sabili llah’ on the other; length 104 cm (* For this lot, the VAT payable by the buyer is calculated on the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, totalling 35.13% inclusive of VAT.)
