Description

LONGWY – Christian LECLERCQ Large circular dish in polychrome enamel with a heraldic design featuring the coat of arms of Conflans-en-Jarnisy. Artist’s mark and signature on the reverse. Circa 1960–1970. Diameter: 37 cm. Christian Leclercq is a French enamel artist associated with Émaux de Longwy. Trained at the manufactory, he follows in the footsteps of great designers such as Maurice-Paul Chevallier, who influenced his work. Awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1972, he is one of the leading figures in the revival of Longwy enamels.
