Quadrangular in shape, in lacquered wood and mother-of-pearl inlays, opening with two doors at the front to reveal four horizontal drawers. The whole piece is richly decorated in gold taka maki-e
in taka maki-e gold, silver and aogai inlay on a nashiji background. The inside of the doors is decorated with a pair of deer under maple trees, a
decoration of branches of punus in flowers, pines and bamboos, decoration known as the "Three Friends of Winter" on the two main leaves, the branches continuing on the top of the cabinet. The brass handles, the main door fittings with chiselled kiri mon (paulownia) decoration. Resting on a wooden base.
