Set of three subjects
Representing three geisha engaged in various activities, one seated playing the shamisen, one standing doing a dance with a fan, another seated holding two chopsticks with possible instrument missing. The heads, hands and accessories are carved in ivory, and the bodies and kimono in gold, silver and red lacquer, using aogai and iro-e techniques.
