Japan, Meiji period
An iron box inlaid with shuibuishi hira zogan and gilt copper, the lid decorated in the Komai style with a temple among pine trees, on the banks of a river with a boat, against a background of Mount Fuji. The rims are similarly decorated. The interior is engraved with iris and butterfly. Mount Fuji mark of the Fujii Yoshitoyo workshop on the base.
