VIETNAM, 19th century Kiem" type official sword The sword has a straight double-edged blade, tapering slightly towards the tip and with a longitudinal groove running along most of its length. The exotic wood scabbard is richly decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays of ducks in lotuses and flowering branches, and includes a finely chased and embossed silver trim and guard, decorated with dragons moving among clouds.
