VIETNAM, 18th century Important polychrome lacquered bronze sculpture Representing a dignitary seated on a throne, one hand resting on the buckle of his belt, the other raised in front of his chest. He is dressed in rich clothing, the details of which are finely chiselled, the folds of the robe falling over the forearms. The face is serene, the eyes half-closed, the hair in a bun topped with a rich crown. With painted wooden base. Height: 61 cm Width : 35 cm Depth : 34 cm (wear and tear, missing part of the hairstyle) Provenance: Christie's Paris sale, Art of Asia, sale on 19 December 2012, lot 176.
