VIETNAM, 19th century Large carved wood shelving unit Vertical piece of furniture with open shelves and closed compartments resting on a finely carved moulded base. The architectural structure is composed of several levels punctuated by openwork shelves and frames decorated with foliage and plant motifs. The upper part features a closed compartment with panels carved in relief, depicting animated scenes in a landscape, framed by moulded reserves.
