Description
* ROGER CAPRON (1922–2006) ‘Quadrillages, ellipses, pointillés’ c. 1959, the second known example of this model to date (the first having previously been regarded as a one-off piece) An exceptional and significant rectangular coffee table with an octopod base. The top consists of polychrome glazed ceramic tiles (white, red, black) forming the composition depicted in the title. The eight square-section legs and the metal band are finished in black lacquer. Signed ‘R. CAPRON’ in a white enamelled cartouche on one of the tiles of the top, in a corner.
