Mende helmet mask, Sierra Leone A headdress comprising numerous horns stacked on either side, tapering to a point at the top. The brow is adorned with a wide chevron-patterned band; the small face features slit eyes, a beautifully shaped nose and a delicate mouth. It exudes a sense of inner depth.
