116. 116Y Ф IVORY NETSUKE REPRESENTING A SHISHI By Mitsuharu, Kyoto, late 18th/early 19th century AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A SHISHI By Mitsuharu, Kyoto, late 18th/early 19th century Seated, with its head turned back over his shoulder to the left, mouth open baring impressive fangs, clutching a ball with three paws, spiritedly rendered in slightly-worn and well-toned ivory, the eye pupils inlaid with dark horn; signed in an oval reserve Mitsuharu. 5 cm (2 in.) high Provenance: Joseph and Edith Kurstin Collection.
