JAPAN. A pair of large, high-necked vases in polychrome glazed porcelain; the body is decorated in relief with female figures against a background of butterflies and flowers, whilst the neck features lively scenes of figures within cartouches against a similar background. Marked ‘Hichôzan Shimpo zô’ on the base. Circa 1900. One has damage to the neck and has been restored; part needs reattaching. 67 x 30 cm.
